A home ownership savings scheme (PEL) is qualified "orphan" when it is the only account held by the holder in his/her bank.

The scheme is closed and transferred to Caisse des Dépôts: after 20 years of lying dormant

Caisse des Dépôts keeps the sums: for 10 years

The sums are irreversibly transferred to the State: after 30 years of lying dormant

Beware of fraud attempts on the Internet, by phone and by email. Do not communicate confidential information over the phone. Caisse des Dépôts does not contact individuals or public notaries to inform them of the existence of unclaimed sums or to give them back directly.
This site, free, is the only service allowing the search for unclaimed sums transferred to the Caisse des Dépôts..

FIXED TERM

If a savings product includes a fixed term during which time the sums are locked away and inaccessible, the period of dormancy begins at the end of this fixed term.
